Beacon Wake-up & Activator system mixes two technologies to enhance Bluetooh Low Energy's ability to accurately detect the presence of objects and people in an indoor area.

The Activator device sends a special radio signal, generating a 3-D bubble: upon entering this radio field, the Wake-up Beacon (normally in deep-sleep, so with very low battery power consumption) wakes up and transmits the signal in Bluetooth Low Energy to the listening EchoBeacon or Gateway.
The data-set of this advertisement contains the identification not only of the Beacon (who I am), but also of the Activator that woke it up (where I am), hence the area in which it is located.

By integrating Bluetooth Low Energy technology for long-distance transmission with radio technology characterised by precise data acquisition (5/10 cm), the Beacon Wake-up & Activator system enables proximity identification, but with long range data transmission and wireless configuration, i.e. without any wiring to provide location-based services.

Another distinctive feature of BluEpyc's system is edge computing: by moving part of the intelligence to the periphery of the network, where the Beacon Wake-up Activator system operates, Big Data is filtered and processed more efficiently and proactively.
